Tidings of Comfort and Joy

The word "tiding" has been on my mind lately.  I recently sent some holiday cards with the sentiment "Tidings of Comfort and Joy" on the front and then found myself wondering "What exactly does this mean?"   I thought "What is a tiding?"  In my curiosity, I just had to check out the definition of tiding.
Per Merriam-Webster (on-line):

tiding
noun
Definition of TIDING
: a piece of news —usually used in plural <good tidings>

Among the recipients of this card are my loves ones who experienced a loss in the last year.  I hope that the message of my card will bring them comfort and joy on an occasion that could be difficult for them.   You can see (above) a snapshot of my card.

My goodness!  I am rejoicing now that I finally have completed this post.  It only took one hour....I am very much challenged where importing photos, etc is concerned.

Finally - The Launch of Oh, My Blog!

Greetings, and welcome to Oh, My Blog!  It is such a privilege to be able to combine two of my passions (writing and paper crafting) with you via this blog.   Let's begin with an unusual source of inspiration I received last week as I stood in the cafeteria line at work, waiting to pay for my food.  Just ahead of me sat a 36-count box of candy bars.  I thought to myself "Hey, that would make an awesome Christmas gift for dad!"  Later that night, my car ventured to my local Sam's Club, where I purchased my dad's favorite candy for him.  Let's just hope he doesn't find out about the gift before our gift exchange planned for this Friday, December 23rd!  I look forward to sharing with you in the coming days both my thoughts and creations from my paper crafting.  I wish you and your loved ones a safe and happy holiday season.   Blessings!
